STEP 2: Use a needle and coordinating thread to make a running stitch 1/8 inch from the edge of the circle. Leave thread ends unknotted.

STEP 3: Center a 2-inch Styrofoam ball on the wrong side of the fabric circle, and pull thread ends so that fabric is gathered around the ball. Knot the thread ends, and trim thread.

STEP 4: Inset a screw eye into the top of a 1-inch diameter wooden ball, and use a fine paintbrush and acrylic paints to apply facial features to the wooden ball.

STEP 5: Glue the wooden head onto the top of the covered Styrofoam ball, and hold in place until glue sets.

STEP 6: Glue doll hair onto the top of the wooden ball. Arrange hair around the screw eye.

STEP 7: Stitch together the short ends of a 1 1/2-inch piece of wire-edged ribbon, right sides together. Stitch 1/4 inch from ribbon edges. Turn the ribbon right side out, and flatten so that the seam is centered.

STEP 8: Sew by hand a running stitch along the ribbon seam through both layers. Leave thread ends unknotted. Pull thread ends so that ribbon is tightly gathered at the center seam. Wrap threads around ribbon center several times and knot. Trim thread ends.

STEP 9: Apply glue to the gathered area of the ribbon, and press wings to the back of the angel, between the body and head. Tie a 6-inch length of narrow ribbon into a bow, and glue bow onto the center of the ribbon to hide thread. You can also apply a similar ribbon under your angel's chin. Trim bow ends as desired.

STEP 10: Form the angel's halo with a piece of gold craft wire. Make a circle with the wire, and then wrap the ends together. Glue the wire ends onto the angel's head, and arrange hair to hide the wire ends.

STEP 11: Thread a 6-inch to 7-inch piece of narrow ribbon through the screw eye. Knot ribbon ends, and hang your angel.
