Dolls:
Gotz Dolls In 1950, Marianne and Franz Gotz founded Gotz Puppenfabrik in Rodental.
The first dolls created were made of paper mache and they were crafted with the
help of five family members and sold directly by Franz Gotz.
In 1957, Gotz started producing dolls with vinyl rotation process. They are
still being made with this process today.
In 1964, the first originals of famous artist Sasha Morgenthaler were
reproduced. Thus Gotz had its first artist doll.
In 1985, the number of the employees increased to 150, later to 350 worldwide.
In 1987, their subsidiary in the US, Baldwinsville, NY was founded.
In 1989, Gotz reproduced the first special collections for the artists Sylvia
Natterer and Carin Lossnitzer.
Since then they have internationally become increasingly rerenowned for other
numerous artist collections.
In 1992, Gotz dolls were awarded the first of many "Spiel Gut" certificates.
In 1997, Gotz started a cooperation with the German manufacturer of children's
clothing, Pampolina, for their collection "Pamplina by Gotz". For "Janina, 12
years," they were awarded the "DOLLS Award of Excellence".
In 1999, the second generation of the Gotz family, Anke Gotz-Beyer and Uwe
Beyer, took over the company management.
In 2004, Sarah's playworld was being born - the handcrafted dolls for creative
playing.
