Founded in
June 2000, Razor USA LLC is a privately held company based in Cerritos,
California and holds the worldwide rights to the Razor brand. The Razor scooter,
which was introduced to the U.S. in mid-2000, touched off a consumer buying
frenzy, placing the Razor scooter as one of the top sellers of the 2000 holiday
season. In its first year, the Company enjoyed sales in excess of 5 million
units. Home of the wildly popular Razor scooter, Razor USA has other scooters
like the E100, E200, E300 and XLR8R (electric scooters). The cutting-edge line
of Razor products includes the Scream Machine, the Pocket Rocket mini electric
motorcycle, and a line of ever expanding electric powered ride-on toys. Razor
also offers an action video - Evolution, featuring Team Razor (pro scooter
athletes ages nine to 20, who tour the U.S. participating in demonstrations and
competitions). Razor has a licensing agreement with car manufacturer
DaimlerChrysler, which unveiled the Dodge Razor concept sports coupe to much
acclaim at the 2002 North American International Auto Show Razor has numerous
awards including Toy Industry Association's "Toy of the Year," and "Toy of the
Year" honors from TIME Magazine, Parents, Parenting, Sports Illustrated for
Kids, Nick Jr. and U.S. News & World Report.
